About Us

The Total Athlete started teaching lacrosse in October 2001. The need for new and used equipment grew rapidly. We needed to be able to supply equipment, that kids could afford, so that they could begin to play. Since there wasn’t any lacrosse in Holland, MI at the time, we took it upon ourselves to fill this need. We were selling equipment, at cost, off of Murle’s basement floor and out of our Company trailer. It was basically a lacrosse yard sale. Boy did that seem sketchy!

Then we moved the operation to a shed behind Mark’s house…The Total Athlete’s Lacrosse HQ, one of those deals where you knew someone, who knew someone, who knew us and where we were. Wow, have we come a long way. We are still in the business of helping people afford Lacrosse, Football & Hockey Equipment but now it’s all over the world, not just Holland, Michigan…yes, we ship overseas.

We at The Total Athlete host two indoor lacrosse leagues (fall/winter). These leagues are broken up by age and experience and are open to all players. We put on 3 Beginner Camps for male athletes each year, and we have camps for female athletes too. We also host the Lakeshore Select Summer Teams for U13 & U15. 

We want to give the athletes every chance of getting better regardless of what time of year it may be. We also bring in Professional Players so the local athletes can get to meet some of the stars of the professional game.

Most people think of us as “The Lacrosse Guys” of Holland, Michigan but we have Hockey & Football in the store too. We carry everything for the 3 sports.
